An Energy Storage System (ESS) is a technology designed to store electrical energy and deliver power when needed. It serves multiple functions, including load leveling, peak shaving and valley filling, as well as frequency and voltage regulation. The system typically comprises an energy storage battery system (BESS), a power conversion system (PCS), a battery management system (BMS), and other auxiliary control components. Notably, critical protective devices such as power fuses and switching equipment are primarily deployed within the battery system and power conversion system of the ESS.
